Days of Our Lives Actress Reveals Her Other Passion

Days of Our Lives star Julie Pinson has developed another passion aside from acting. Keeping her preoccupied, she has improved her kitchen skills over time, as she was inspired by her late aunt. Today, she is an expert in making mouth-watering tortes. "I'm not much cooking-wise, but I'm a huge baker. That's my thing. I love to bake. I decorate cakes as a hobby," Pinson revealed to Soap Opera Digest. Her kitchen, which has been totally renovated, makes her even more eager to cook up new dishes. "I was so happy I was able to make a cake for a friend's baby shower, a few months ago. That makes me really happy." At an early age, Pinson already developed an interest in the art of baking and the years that followed turned this interest into a passion that she now takes pride in. "When I got older, about 15 years ago, my roommate and I here in L.A. decided, on a whim, to take a cake-decorating class," she explained. "So I got back into it, and I love it. I would love to go further. I want to learn how to do really difficult stuff." "Baking and decorating cakes is kind of my art. The good thing about this kind of art is you get to eat it and it tastes really good. That's what attracted me to it in the first place," the actress who plays Billie Reed on Days of Our Lives said. "It's because I love sweets so much." Prior to her acting job on Days of Our Lives, Pinson was popularized by her portrayal of Dr. Eve Lambert Collins Thornhart on Port Charles, a role she played from 1997 to 2002, which saw her character's death. She also briefly played record producer Shiloh on The Young and the Restless. About the author:
