Well it's a New Year! Many of us have new plans, new ideas and new hopes. This year, some of us will achieve our dreams! But, a year from now few of us will have lived this year any different to those that have gone before. Wherever we are in our lives, whatever we have done has been good enough to get us to this point. Why change? We may dream of changing, of giving up bad habits or of making more of ourselves. We could lose weight, eat better, exercise more and get fitter, reduce our drinking, stop smoking, cut down our debts, start saving, spend more time with our families and make many other positive changes. Now is the time of year many people decide to take action and undergo some change. However, for most people the good intentions do not last long. Speaking from experience I know this to be so very true. It's easy to give something up. I've given the same thing up many, many times over the years. There is good news. It doesn't have to be like this. Last year I lost two stone, and it's stayed off. I've also changed my eating and drinking habits and am on the road to a much healthier future. I've been able to do this through a different and extremely effective approach which Ill share with you as the year goes on. Exercise If you were to exercise 3 times a week and you spent 300 calories each time, in one year you would lose over 5kg from the exercise alone. However it gets better, when you exercise your metabolic rate increases and it remains high for up to 18 hours after you stop. This means your body continues to burn extra calories even when you are resting. People who undertake regular aerobic exercise enjoy reduced cholesterol levels, decreased pulse rates and lower blood pressure. Exercise has been proved to soup up the immunity system, boost energy capacities and increase our abilities to cope with life through rebalancing stress hormone levels. Success TipConfidence Some people see life as something that just happens. They do not consider they have much control over things. Other people have real success and good things just seem to happen for them. How do they do it? Studies show that the single most important ingredient is confidence. Nothing else comes close. People who are shy or lack confidence have the same dreams and hopes as everyone else. Think about it! If you had real confidence in yourself and in achieving your dreams how easy would it be to be successful? If you dont believe me. Think of all the really successful people you know, you read about or you see on the TV. How confident are they? Are they any different to you? Or are they just a little bit more confident?
